: Dear Friends,

: I am writing to ask for your vote in the Jersey City School Board Election on 
: April 19,2005.

: As a parent of a child who attended the Jersey City Public School System, I think I can understand many of the problems our school system faces.  Some of those problems caused me to run for the Jersey City School Board nine years ago.

: As the parent of a Special Education child, I have worked hard to make sure that
: “Special Ed” kids in Jersey City schools are not passed over and ignored.  That Special Ed kids and their parents get the services and rights that they deserve.  I helped set up the Board’s Special Education Committee and fought to make sure Special Ed kids were included in after school and other special programs.  I have come to be known as the “Special Ed Mom”.

: My efforts haven’t been limited to Special Education.  I have used my skills as a planner to be a leader in building new schools for our City.  I have taken a primary role in the construction of the new School #3, the new middle school in the Heights and the 
: Glenn D. Cunningham Early Childhood Learning Center.

: I have also worked very closely with and supported the Educational Arts Team.  The Educational Arts Team has done so many wonderful things for our kids and our community.  Camp Liberty being an example.

: I have done my best to give Jersey City kids new schools, smaller class sizes, safer busses and a secure and nurturing classroom environment.  I am experienced, skilled and I deeply and truly care for all Jersey City’s school children.  Please give me your vote on April 19,2005.  Polls are open from 2PM to 9PM.
