AYALA FOR ASSEMBLY **News Advisory** Contact: William Cruz Rev. Reginald Jackson to Endorse Bill Ayala For Assembly in the 31st District Democratic Primary The Reverend Reginald Jackson will endorse Bill Ayala for Assemblyman in the 31st District Democratic Primary at the Light Rail Station on Martin Luther King Blvd in Jersey City. The endorsement will take place at 10:30a.m., on Thursday, June 2, 2005. The station is located at the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and Virginia Ave. in Jersey City. Bill Ayala is running with incumbent Assemblyman Anthony Chiappone, against HCDO backed candidates Dr. Charles Epps, the Superintendent of Schools in Jersey City and Assemblyman Lou Manzo. Rev. Reginald Jackson is the Executive Director of the Black Ministers' Council of New Jersey which represents more than 800 African American churches in the State of New Jersey. Rev. Jackson is also the pastor of St. Matthew African Methodist Episcopal Church, Orange, New Jersey. Rev. Jackson is a prominent figure in New Jersey’s Civil Rights movement. Rev. Jackson’s leadership was instrumental in the fight against racial profiling which resulted in New Jersey outlawing racial profiling and the institution of several reforms in the New Jersey State Police.
