We appreciate your kind words, as well as your invitation. You should know, however, that other people "working" for Schundler in this county have derided us as "losers," "yuppie scvm," and worse. If you two were the face of Schundler's campaign in this county instead of those people, perhaps he wouldn't have lost as many votes here.

Even with a non-adversarial attitude towards motivated conservative activists in Hudson County, however, Schundler would still be in a world of hurt. Schundler has, in short, run an awful campaign. His ads and his stump speeches are uninspiring. He doesn't speak to issues that matter to conservatives. The Hoboken Republicans hosted him in February. He showed up a full two hours late, and then proceeded to offer us the most boring talk we've ever heard. In a crowd of die-hard conservatives, he didn't even sound like a Republican! That, in a nutshell, is the problem with Bret. And that is why I'm afraid he is headed towards a resounding defeat next Tuesday. I was a real Schundlerite in 2001. This time around I'm voting for Lonegan. I'm not alone. I've heard the New York Times is already working on a piece entitled, "Whatever Happened to the Schundler Army?" That, I think, says it all.
