: DR. JOSEPH BUTTIGHERI : “THE DISEASE OF CORRUPTION HAS PLAGUED CITY GOVERNMENT FOR TOO LONG!” : JERSEY CITY, NJ – March 18, 2005 – Today, Dr. Joseph Buttigheri, podiatrist and longtime Jersey City resident announced that he has filed the required petitions to run for City Council in Ward C. Buttigheri is registering an election committee this week. : As a resident of Jersey City and a local physician caring for the community for many years, Dr. Buttigheri has witnessed and experienced the toll that government waste and corruption has taken on our neighborhood. : “I have watched and I have also heard repeatedly from my patients that government has ignored our needs and allowed patronage to compromise our ability to make Jersey City a better place,” said Dr. Joseph Buttigheri, Council Candidate. Buttigheri continued, “As a trained doctor, I cannot stand by as this government sickness spreads and threatens our home and the future of our children” : Four generations of the Buttigheri family have lived in Jersey City, including Dr. Joe’s grandfather who owned a barber shop on Newark Avenue. Three generations of the Buttigheri family have cared for Jersey City as podiatrists. The Buttigheri commitment to Jersey City is so strong that the dying wish of Dr. Joe’s father was to be buried in this city, which he loved. : Buttigheri decided to run for City Council in Ward C because he feels a duty to take an active role in protecting the City. Dr. Buttigheri will not accept any other governmental employment in the County if he is elected to serve the citizens of Ward C as Councilman. Buttigheri will dedicate himself to defending the rich heritage of our community while providing a healthy future for our children. : # # # ____________________________________________________________ If you're interested in being on our Talking Politics tv show, please contact me at TalkingPolitics@comcast.net.
