: : 2 KIDS LEFT IN CAR BY 'REEL BAD MOM' : : A 24-year-old Jersey City woman who left her young children alone in a car for at least 45 minutes while she went inside a movie theater to see her boyfriend was arrested Tuesday night, reports said. : : Aimee Ovalles Marte, of Armstrong Avenue, was arrested at 9:36 p.m. Tuesday outside the Frank Family Theaters South Cove 12 on two counts of abuse, abandonment and/or neglect of a juvenile, reports said. : : Assemblyman and City Councilman Anthony Chiappone said he saw Marte's 7-year-old and 18-month-old sons sitting alone in her 2004 black Honda for several minutes before he called the cops. Officers entered the theater and, after about 30 minutes, found Marte, who said she'd gone inside to see her live-in boyfriend - a manager at the theater - and to make a phone call. : : Chiappone said he'd gone to see a movie that night with his wife and daughter and happened to be parked next to Marte's car. He said he noticed the 18-month-old baby crying and the older boy calmly playing a hand-held video game. The windows were cracked and the keys were in the ignition, Chiappone said. : : Chiappone asked the boy where his mother was, and he replied that she was inside the theater making a phone call. : : When the mother didn't return, Chiappone went inside the theater to look for her, but couldn't find her. Two teenage girls waiting outside the theater told the assemblyman that the baby had been crying for 10 minutes before he'd arrived. : : "At that point, my feeling was maybe somebody actually left their kids and was watching a movie inside," Chiappone said. He then called police. : : "While I feel bad for the mother, far worse could have happened to the kids," Chiappone said. "It's unfathomable that somebody would leave their kids like that for an extended period of time or any amount of time. It only takes a second for something bad to happen." : : An agent from the state Division of Youth and Family Services was called to police headquarters and released the children into the boyfriend's custody around midnight, reports said. : : The charge is a fourth-degree crime that is punishable by a maximum of 18 months in prison and a $10,000 fine for each count, according to Bayonne Police Chief Robert Qubert. : : Marte, who was released on $250 cash bail, could not be reached yesterday for comment. : : : : What sad, pathetic little lives you must all have. And all because your guy lost and you didn't get no-show jobs.
