Didn't McGreevey claim to have broken his leg in the same manner? And wasn't it later revealed McGreevey was really with his Lover at the shore and not with his wife?

Hmmm, brings a whole new meaning to the Political Excuse, "I hurt myself while at the shore"

It's gotta be secret code words.

"In the last Political Insider, there was an item about some heated arguments at Brennan's Pub involving some political figures following a Jersey City council meeting. The Insider asked if anyone who knew more could e-mail information and we added "by Arnold Bettinger's foot, we'll get to the bottom of it all."

Bettinger contacted us and he was very upset, to put it mildly. He denied he was ever at the bar or involved "in the brawl." The former Journal Square councilman said he injured his foot while walking at his Shore home. OK, by Thor's hammer, we believe him."
