On April 19, 2005, Jersey City voters will again have an opportunity to select members to the Board of Education. Polls will be open from 2-9 PM. I urge all Jersey City voters to turn out and elect Suzanne Mack (12A) and the entire JCEA Team, Franklin Williams (9A), Jayesh Modi (13A) and Angel Valentin (4B).

Suzanne Mack believes all kids in the Jersey City school system are special. Her particular passion is for special education students. For nearly nine years she has been known as the Special Education Mom, because of the extensive work she has done to improve special education programs in the Jersey City school district. This has been a difficult task. The issues in special education are very complex. However, Suzanne has used her experience with her own special education child and her extensive knowledge of school administrative procedures and State guidelines on Special Education to insure that every student has the best chance to achieve.

Suzanne has been, and remains, a persistent advocate for students, parents and teachers. During her tenure on the Board of Education, she has helped implement the provisions of the Abbot vs. Burke decision, overseen the expansion of after school activities, assisted the Educational Arts Team, planned the building of new schools
(School Number 3) and insured the provision of meaningful programs for special education students. Suzanne views the students, parents, teachers and administrators of the Jersey City School System as a large family. She stands ready, as a family member, to help any member of this family/community with any problem they may have and to find solutions.

Suzanne Mack is a Professional Urban Planner and has served on the Board since 1996. She was Board President from 2000-2002, and has chaired the Facilities and Special Education Committees.

On April 19,2005 Vote for Suzanne Mack 12A!!!
