"Making children safer on their way to and from school is about the best possible use of our State funding," said Senator Kenny. "These grants also provide important property tax relief allotments for Hoboken and Union City." In Hoboken, the funding will be used to make safety improvements near the Brandt School by Ninth Street, Park Avenue and Garden Street; near the Connors School by Second Street, Madison and Monroe Streets, and near Wallace School on Eleventh Street, Willow Avenue and Clinton Street. In Union City, pedestrian improvements will be made near the Sarah M. Gilmore School on Seventeenth Street, the Thomas A. Edison School on West Street, the Jose Marti Middle School on Summit Avenue and the Roosevelt School on Hudson Avenue. "When it comes to safety for our children going to school, we should always do whatever we can," Senator Kenny said. #
