: : : First and foremost, I believe Sean has belonged to the parade committee for awhile, he is not a brandy new member. : : While Sean has exhibited a common sense approach in any issue he has written about, I believe he may have fallen a tad short on this one. : : He is on the money about the parade drawing more people to the downtown area. The area is suprisingly devoid of life in the evenings and this would be a nice way for a nice parade to finish. : : However, holding it on a Friday evening is where it falls short, in my personal opinion. First of all, it is dark & cold. Second, 4pm on a Friday the school kids are just out, people are starting to leave work tired & hungry. I have a problem with gridlock in an area devoid of parking. And I do understand Sean wanting to keep people in the area. : : Why not then hold it the same time on Saturday? People are normally out and about on a Saturday. Saturday is a traditional party nite, if you will. What better way to finish a Saturday when young & old alike are looking for a nite out? This without the same harried feelings you would have on a Friday when you have just had a rough day at work/school, blah, blah, blah. : : Sean never stop thinking, so few do it these days. Don't let anyone silence you. : : It's the little things Sean. : :::On your planet, it's warmer and brighter on Saturday nights than Friday nights? :::As a matter of fact yes, we like to party down. I'm sorry if on your planet (Dumb A$$ - just past Uranus)it's tired & cranky all the time.
