KENNY ANNOUNCES STREET IMPROVEMENT GRANTS

TRENTON - Senate Majority Leader Bernard F. Kenny Jr. today announced
approval of more than $1.5 million in State grants for roadway improvements
in his 33rd Legislative District.

"These State grants represent direct property tax relief to municipalities
and they provide vital quality of life improvements in communities," said
Senator Kenny.

The grant totals and their projects were: $390,000 for 8th Street in
Hoboken; $308,000 for 61st Street in West New York; $300,00 for resurfacing
various streets throughout Guttenberg; $168,000 for 4th Street and $122,000
for 6th Street, both in Union City, and $200,000 for resurfacing and curbing
on various streets in Weehawken.

The grants were approved through the Department of Transportation's
Municipal Aid Program, Senator Kenny said.
