: SACCO ANNOUNCES ROAD IMPROVEMENT GRANTS 

:         TRENTON - Senator Nicholas J. Sacco today announced the approval of 
: nearly $1 million in State grants for street improvements in municipalities 
: of his 32nd Legislative District. 

:         "These grants represent savings for local taxpayers for work that 
: needs to be done to maintain safety and to facilitate traffic flow," said 
: Senator Sacco. "It's direct property tax relief for our communities." 

:         The grant totals are $280,000 for resurfacing, drainage upgrades and 
: ramp installations  on various streets in North Bergen; $220,000 for curb 
: and ramp improvements and resurfacing  various streets in Harrison; $200,00 
: for improvements to Belgrove Drive in Kearny; $170,000 for resurfacing 
: various streets in Secaucus, and $125,000 for improvements to Central Avenue 
: in East Newark. 

:         The grants were approved for the communities through the Department 
: of Transportation's Municipal Aid Program, Senator Sacco said.
