: : What's going on with the Food Store, we are hurting for some decent stores in the Hieghts. I'm tired of doing my food shopping in Secuacus. This would be a great addition for this area of the city. : Think the traffic's bad on Summit Avenue now? Stick a big box up in the Heights and there'll be bumper to bumper jams 'round the clock. Get ready for any number of tragedies when fire trucks get caught like flies on flypaper! And do you like pot holes? Then you'll just love a warehouse store in the Heights! The endless heavy trucks will chew up the streets here like no tomorrow. : If you can get in a car and go elsewhere to shop, then just keep on going! Big box retail doesn't belong in the quiet Heights neighborhood. ::::And a school with 400 (they say) rugrats & school buses 2x's a day does? Now let's do the residential math. 41 houses with 2 apartments = 82 units 82 units with 2 adults & 3 children (average) = 164 adults & 246 children 41 houses with a base average of 3 cars/house = 82 cars that may be parked in garage (if garage is not converted into basement &/or apt) & 41 cars to be parked on street. Now, where are the kids going to school? We are busting at the seams already. What recreational amenities are there? Where do these families go to shop locally cause not everyone will necessarily be mobile? Where can mothers, seniors & ambitious teens get local work? With benefits? You can increase the above by about 30% if these residences are like the that string of new houses towards the Central Ave. end of Beacon & Jefferson. Sorry, you put in the services to attract the customers not vice versa.
