Doria faces conflict in Ramapo position Published in the 12/13/04 By LILO H. STAINTON TRENTON -- Regardless of the push to install him as president of a public college in northern New Jersey, newly sworn-in state Sen. Joseph V. Doria Jr., D-Hudson, pledged last week to serve out the three remaining years in his legislative term. State law stipulates that lawmakers cannot also hold paid state jobs, and observers have suggested that if Doria is tapped to head Ramapo College, he would have to abandon his Senate seat.
