Today, I took some pictures at Governor Codey's Liberty State Park press conference.

In attendance were Senator Corzine, Cogressman Menendez, State Attorney General Harvey, Jersey City Mayor Healy, the families of State Troopers who died in the line of duty and dozens of State Troopers.

The first part of the event was in the Central Railroad Terminal. Afterwards, three new State Police patrol vessels were launched from a pier a few blocks away.

As the dignitaries, honored family members, and a horde of press walked to the dock, the whole group bunched up at a bend in the foot path. I spotted a more direct route across a lot and took it at a jog.

Immediately, I heard footsteps in the gravel behind me. Assuming that the security was not happy with my surprise move, I stopped and looked behind me, expecting to see a State Trooper. It was Mayor Jerry Healy! I remarked to him to leave it to the Jersey City people to take the shortcut. "You bet'cha!" was his reply.
