JERSEY CITY, NJ - Mayor Jerramiah T. Healy and Superior Court Judge Honorable Frances L. Antonin will swear in Wanda Molina Esq. as Jersey City's first Hispanic woman to the position of Chief Judge of the Jersey City Municipal Court on Wednesday December 29, 2004 at 5:00 p.m. in The Jersey City Municipal Justice Complex.
Honorable Molina is a graduate from Russell Sage College in New York and Seton Hall Law University in Newark. Upon receiving her law degree, she worked as an attorney with the Public Defender's Office Appellate Division in Essex County. She has since worked for Jersey City's Public Defender's Office both on a County and a Municipal level. From 1990 to 2003, she operated her own private law practice in Jersey City.
Wanda Molina was appointed as Court Director of the Jersey City Municipal Court in 2003. Mayor Healy, with the support from the Jersey City Municipal Court, appointed her to be the new Chief Presiding Judge of the Jersey City Municipal Court on December 15, 2004. The Honorable Wanda Molina maintains her current residency in Jersey City.
"Wanda Molina's experience within the criminal justice and the municipal court systems is uncompromised," said Mayor Healy. "She has worked diligently to maintain a fair balance of ethics and morals that are evident in her daily professional judgments. I am confident that she will be an asset to the Jersey City municipal court system, and she will continue to maintain her ethical integrity.”
