I guess 366 million dollars doesn't seem as important as electing some new bozo to a government position. Yes! 366 Million Dollars is what Union City is spending on the Destruction Roosevelt Stadium and build up of new school projest. This is all being done for political gains, because there are other solutions. A thriving, usable, historic site and an icon of Union City. Roosevelt stadium is rich in history, design and usefulness and is being destroyed. Why? When there are other alternatives. Preserve, protect and renovate. Rebuild our schools and build new schools in areas where there is no loss of history. Schools are a necessity and the education of our children is our hope for the future, but we must also preserve our past. In North Bergen they have built temporary schools in Hudson County Park while there existing grammar schools are being rebuilt and expanded this saves city government and tax payer $$$'s. Why doesn't Union City Government do something similar and at the same time save Roosevelt Stadium. Be mart and it will also save taxpayers millions of dollars in new building cost and our priceless history. Mayor Brian Stack and the board of Union City Commissioners, It's not too late, do not destroy our history in the name of progress. Don't let this treasure of Union City be torn down. : : Oscar M. PRESERVATION NJ WEBSITE http://www.preservationnj.org/ten_most/ten_most_property_detail.asp?COUNTY=Hudson%20County&PropID=112 Hey, I've noticed there is very little room for new building construction in Union City. Eons ago when I went to Union Hill they expanded both Union Hill and High School and never even had to relocate students. Why don't they do the same now! Hell make temperary schools inside Roosevelt stadium if that’s what it takes. I know the only way anyone would condone the tearing down of the stadium for any reason is if you worked for Stack or were in his pocket!
