Union City seems to have 2 government employee for every citizen. Convert The City Hall into Emerson High scholl This way Emerson will never have an overpopulation problem ever again. The Satadium is saved. : There is no way you can condone this, for whatever reason you might think you have! Unless of couse you are a payed employee, Stack seems to have alot of those.
: : Mayor Stack is doing the right thing for the children of UC. Having a new school and sports facility is better than looking at a run-dwon stadium that isn't used for 300+ days a year. Wake up!
: : : : : Please don't let our History be destroyed! : : : Death of Roosevelt Stadium. A thriving, usable, historic site and an Icon of Union City. : : : Mayor Brian Stack some other individuals in Union City government think that this stadium and other historic sites in this city should be torn down in the name of progress even though Brian singed a city preservation act. The majority of the people of Union City and surrounding areas however feel that progress should not be a reason to get rid of our past. This is the only stadium in the country left standing that was built as part of Franklin Roosevelt’s WPA program and named Roosevelt Stadium as a tribute to him. The historical value of this stadium is priceless! : : : This Art Deco design Stadium in Union City, NJ has been opinioned and documented as a Historic Preservation site, ID# 4211 under the NJDEP Historic Preservation Plan, it needs the full protection of our Federal law not just a catalog number? Further more, Green Acres Funds were used to renovate this historic stadium in 1985 to also establish it under the National Parks heading. : : : This stadium rich in history, design and usefulness is being destroyed. Why? When there are other alternatives. Rebuild and renovate our schools and build new schools in areas where there is no loss of history. Schools are a necessity and the education of our children is our hope for the future, but not at the cost of our history. : : : Mayor Brian Stack, Why are you not enforcing your own city ordinances, the one you singed to preserve our historic sites? : : : http://www.preservationnj.org/ten_most/ten_most_property_detail.asp?COUNTY=Hudson%20County&PropID=112
