EAST NEWARK, 26.1 miles (20 alt., 2,686 pop.), is the dwarf among
boroughs in this region with little room to grow except upward. Carved
out in 1895, it is a wedge between Harrison and Kearny, only 2,000 feet
borough from Newark, where many of its industrial workers live.
long on the Passaic River front and 1,600 feet deep. The river divides the
State 2 follows N. 4th St. through Harrison.
