At 0.7 mile is the junction with State 35 (see Tour 22) at NEPTUNE
CITY, 1.4 mile (30 alt., 2,258 pop.) (see Tour 22).
At the western end of Neptune City is the FITKIN MEMORIAL HOSPITAL (R), two imposing buildings in the dignified Georgian Colonial
design of red brick and white decorations. Beyond is a group of stucco
houses, kennels, nurseries, and (R) the ASBURY PARK GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB (18 holes; greens fee 75¢ to $1 weekdays, $2 Sat. and Sun.).
Jumping Brook, a tributary of Shark River, is crossed in an area where
larger residences dot the rolling country.
