VANDERBURG, 7.3 miles (115 alt.), once called Edinburg, is the center
of a farming district. The well-known BIG BROOK GAME FARM here raises
pheasants, ruffed grouse, and partridge for the New York market. A game
preserve for hunting is provided. The hunter buys what game he wishes
and releases it on the preserve; the birds not shot escape to freedom. Here
is also a small fox farm.
At 8.5 miles is the junction with a hard-surfaced road.
