POINT PLEASANT, 35.4 miles (20 alt., 2,058 pop.), has a bungalow
colony on its beach front.
At Point Pleasant is the junction with State 37 (see Tour 30). Here
State 35 turns R. and runs inland.
At a lift bridge, 36.4 miles, the highway crosses a canal 1.5 miles long,
connecting the Manasquan and Metedeconk Rivers. It is part of the Intracoastal Waterway, following the inside route to Cape May and thence to
Florida.
