At 39.2 miles the road crosses Mechescatatauxin Creek. ATCO LAKE
(L), a small pleasure resort, is formed from its waters.
At 39.7 miles is the junction with an improved road.
Right on this road is ATCO (Indian, pure water), 0.4 mile (150 alt.), once the site
of a Lenape Indian village. Here are the rusty streaks of a primitive railway that
once pushed nearly 10 miles east through the pines to Atsion, site of an early furnace. The old right-of-way is used as a road.
At 40.8 miles is the junction with State S41 (see Tour 37).
At 40.9 miles is the junction with a macadam road.
Left on this road to the PEACOCK DAHLIA FARM, 1.5 m., one of the State's larg-
est producers of dahlia blossoms and bulbs.
