MAGNOLIA, 24.3 miles (80 alt., 1,522 pop.), an agricultural center,
was known in Civil War days as Greenland, not from the climate but because of the greenish tinge of the soil. The town was renamed for the blos-
soms of magnolia trees in this area.
At 29.3 miles is the junction (R) With US 206 (see Tour 6).
At 29.4 miles is the junction (L) with 12th St., a paved road.
