: 2029. Great leadership in that department... : This is from the JJ today: : "A Jersey City deputy police chief accused of driving a NJ Transit bus while on city time has retired with a full pension - just over $90,000 a year - and all departmental charges against him have been dropped. On Wednesday, Jersey City spokesman Stan H. Eason said Perez's retirement would make the departmental charges against him "a moot point." That means Perez is walking away from the force with a full pension and that he and his family will remain eligible for city healthcare benefits, Eason said. " : "The allegations against Jersey City Deputy Police Chief Victor Perez came to light two months ago, when a high-ranking police official told The Jersey Journal that Perez was facing departmental charges accusing him of driving the bus during the same hours he was supposed to be working for the city. " : http://www.nj.com/news/jjournal/index.ssf?/base/news-1/105817742886792.xml : Why can't Conte get his facts straight or is it that he is on some kind of family payroll? Conte obviously mistook slimy Edgar Martinez for a "high-ranking police official". What Conte doesn't print is that Martinez is not now nor will never be a high ranking official of anything. What Conte chose not to print is that Lieutenant Buonocore could not stand having someone like Victor Perez around...someone who outranked him in every way. There was great leadership in the department when Victor Perez was Acting Chief. There was ethical treatment of citizens and minority prisoners too. Buonocore held himself up as a pillar of ethics in his bid for the mayor's office (after the mayor mysteriously dropped dead). Unfortunately he couldn't stop lying about where he lived. Morrell and Conte should get their facts straight and stop trying to ruin other people's lives; people that work hard for a living: people like Victor Perez
