2029. Great leadership in that department... This is from the JJ today: "A Jersey City deputy police chief accused of driving a NJ Transit bus while on city time has retired with a full pension - just over $90,000 a year - and all departmental charges against him have been dropped. On Wednesday, Jersey City spokesman Stan H. Eason said Perez's retirement would make the departmental charges against him "a moot point." That means Perez is walking away from the force with a full pension and that he and his family will remain eligible for city healthcare benefits, Eason said. " "The allegations against Jersey City Deputy Police Chief Victor Perez came to light two months ago, when a high-ranking police official told The Jersey Journal that Perez was facing departmental charges accusing him of driving the bus during the same hours he was supposed to be working for the city.
