: McCann was Mayor during that happy first goround.  It was the public speaking portion of a Council meeting.  Some obese character is yelling and hollering about how bad the EMS ambulance service is, of all things.  The guy actually works himself into a frenzy and keels over with a heart attack right at the mike.  Somebody dials 911 and an ambulance show up like immediately.  They get the guy stabilized and on a stretcher.  Just as they are about to wheel him out, McCann, in front of the entire public and the Council walks over to the guy stretched out.  Gerry gets right in his face and yells loud enough to be heard up at Journal Square, "I'd like to hear you say something bad about the EMS NOW, you fat F#$*K!"

: : : Back in the first round when he was mayor was Gerry ever like an overnight guest of the city of New York?

: : It's like ancient history but the rumor was that with a snootful of the best that Scotland has to offer, Gerry attempted to get shall we say a little better than a first name basis with a waitress.  Not impressed that he was a CPA, the young lady refused. and some sort of turmoil ensued.

: : Enter stage left the NYC police.

: : Story goes that then NYC Mayor Ed Koch was brought in for the final call.  Seems that the pretty Miss insisted on pressing charges.  Koch agreed with her that no pity should be wasted on Gerry, but think of his wife and the people of Jersey City.  They've got to put up with the guy every day.  Do you want that they should have to bear even yet more suffering.  Staggered at the thought of a daily dose of McCann, she agreed to just forget about the whole thing.

: : It ended with Gerry being treated to a supervised slumber and a ride home the next day.
