One column dredged up the suicide of a prominent Democrat's father two decades ago.

"I do not write for them, and I don't tell them what to print," Cunningham says.

But the paper's publisher, Bobby Jackson, is a close ally who served as one of three trustees on the mayor's inaugural committee, and he has raised funds for the mayor. Kenny and Menendez are beyond bitter.
