Christie, if your lurking, I gave the guy a lecture that I expected him to make money and I expected the people of Jersey City to get the best deal, but I wasn't taking a dime! : Source the Quote : "Jersey City is a political town and we have certain rules and regulations here, and since your company has never done any business with us before, I want to inform you as to what these rules and regulations are." : "It's not a bribe, it's a gratuity." : "I will opt for creative financing every time." : "We know that Jersey City can be America's most livable city." "You can see the whole world and not leave Jersey City... Together we can make Jersey City a slice of heaven." : "They called it the Jersey City Renaissance. But [he] knew its Medicis and its Borgias and its Sforzas from the old days. It was a renaissance of condominiums and kickbacks, ready-mixed concrete and plasterboard walls, glass and aluminum and the cheapest wiring money could buy. None of it would last as long as the pier-pilings that had stood in its place." : "I forgot more than he'll ever know." : "Jesus was not a wimp. He was a tough guy." : "We were friends." : "When you stop sin, Father, I'll stop all the problems of Jersey City." : "I don't think the people turned their backs on me." : "The political leader is a fact of life in America.
