HUDSON: BUSH COUNTRY? Saturday, October 02, 2004 By Sarah N. Lynch In what pollsters called a "stunning turn of events," President George W. Bush and Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., are locked in a virtual dead heat in the Democratic stronghold of Hudson County, according to a recent poll conducted by New Jersey City University for The Jersey Journal. The poll, conducted Sunday among 215 registered voters in Hudson County, found that 37.7 percent said they will vote for Bush and 34.9 percent said they plan to vote for Kerry, the Democratic nominee. The poll has a margin of error of 4.5 percentage points. . . . "It doesn't surprise me because the Hudson County people have been suffering with all the corruption and the mismanagement of the Democratic Party," said Hudson County Republican Chairman José Arango. "And also . we've suffered very much because of 9/11. We saw with our eyes a threat of 9/11." . . . For the complete Jersey Journal article, please see the Link.
