: First and foremost, I believe Sean has belonged to the parade committee for awhile, he is not a brandy new member. While Sean has exhibited a common sense approach in any issue he has written about, I believe he may have fallen a tad short on this one. He is on the money about the parade drawing more people to the downtown area. The area is suprisingly devoid of life in the evenings and this would be a nice way for a nice parade to finish. However, holding it on a Friday evening is where it falls short, in my personal opinion. First of all, it is dark & cold. Second, 4pm on a Friday the school kids are just out, people are starting to leave work tired & hungry. I have a problem with gridlock in an area devoid of parking. And I do understand Sean wanting to keep people in the area. Why not then hold it the same time on Saturday? People are normally out and about on a Saturday. Saturday is a traditional party nite, if you will. What better way to finish a Saturday when young & old alike are looking for a nite out? This without the same harried feelings you would have on a Friday when you have just had a rough day at work/school, blah, blah, blah. Sean never stop thinking, so few do it these days. Don't let anyone silence you. It's the little things Sean.
