Just eight months ago, Jersey City school board candidate Carmine Venezia assumed a lead role in seeking to remove another candidate, Carmen Mendiola, from the ballot on the grounds she didn't live in Jersey City.

Joining forces with the Jersey City Board of Education's legal department, Venezia even hired his own attorney to help accomplish the task.

Victorious on two counts, Venezia won election to the board and Mendiola was tossed from the ballot by a Superior Court judge.

Now the tables have turned.

Two-term school board member Terrence Curran is seeking Venezia's ouster from the board on the grounds that Venezia doesn't live in Jersey City - a state requirement for serving.
