:::You call those occupied spaces on Central Ave. stores? Let's get real. Crap at best. While we are at it, the annual CASID book is out. This one is sponsered by Yun/Gaughan I believe. Lists stores, services, block assoc. that are here in Heights. Only problem is that it is a propaganda listing by that vile little Korean. There are one or two block assoc. that are still very active, that had been listed in this book that have been dropped because they DARE speak contrary to Mr. Yun's & Mr. Gaughan's views. These gentlemen (and I use that term lightly) need to remember that this is still a democracy. : I live two blocks from Central Avenue. What stores are you talking about? I can only think of four on the strip. There's where the bakery was next to the North Precinct, two just down the block from Garden State News (One was the location of the Heights Healy hq. As there never is a FOR RENT sign in the windows, I figger somebody is keeping those two empty with the idea of a rehab/new construction), and there's one up by Congress. : There's a couple shops that don't seem to be keeping ends afloat and will probably give up the ghost -- the juice / hot dog joint on the corner of Sherman Pl. : Individual business owners should go for a stroll on Bergenline Ave. in North Hudson, Broadway in Bayonne, and Washington in Hoboken to get some ideas on the sorts of businesses that people want. Basically, why do people keep opening 99 cent stores? Has anybody got rich at that? :
