DeGise's strength comes from Menendez and the north. With the Congressman losing ground in the delegation as well as in Washington, he will be hard pressed to offer anyone else to run against DeGise...if he decides DeGise is getting too independent. So where does that leave us? Well...Gaughan (a true blood-suking leach) follows the money and would no doubt turn on the Congressman if he felt his paycheck was in jeapordy. And the Congressman would dump Tommy boy in a second if he thought he could be beaten by ...hmm.... let's say a surrogate of the next JC Mayor who may or may not feel indebted to the Congressman. Afterall Menendez and his HCDO are backing two candidates. That's the perfect way to engender anger from the loser and the winner too. So....will the future Mayor of JC go against the 300 pound Gorilla and back someone else for Co Exec? Will the Congressman find his poll numbers slipping as he loses ground and the spotlight to the possibility of a Democratic President? Will Menendez produce the kind of numbers necessary to show the future occupant of the Whitehouse that he has some value and should be supported in his next race? Or will Menendez look to protect his own pocketbook and look for some appointment from the future President Kerry? Then he can pocket all that campaign cash he's been hoarding for years. So many questions and so few answers. But if anyone thinks that DeGise has complete control of his own future.....think again. : Are you backstabbing the Democrats for the guvernatorial run in Hudson or are you shoving it to Schundler? : Or are you and Gaughan going to work tag team again, you for Schundler and Bill for the dems runner. : As you is a debit in terms of votes, anybody clever would push to have you on the opposition as that is how you do the most harm.
