The leaves are starting the fall -- and the Healy signs along with them! Up in the Heights here, about two weeks ago Healy signs got plastered on a bunch of houses. One after another, I see people pitching them in the garbage. Anybody have any idea what gives? And this isn't vandalism -- as in the case of the Manzo signs. The homeowners are taking the signs down themselves and putting them in the trash. I only saw one that was defaced by a magic markered "X." As it was kept up in that sorry state for a week, my assumption is that the damage was intentionally inflicted by the person living there. I only know a little about a single case. Seems that the twerp agreed to put the sign up in exchange for like a little favor. . . (To all concerned, remember, as we've been told, God works in strange ways (Gov. James E. uses the word "mysterious.")) After a little bit, the slink dumped the yellow sign. This might be the first case of a voter breaking a campaign promise made to a politician! Manzo signs are holding their own after the little wave of spite. A few Smith and Carroll signs are out and about. I can't remember seeing any for the other hopefuls.
